The Kampot International Tourist Port, managed by KITP Development Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of AZ Group, has officially partnered with Virak Buntham to introduce a high-speed boat service, enhancing connectivity to neighboring countries. This exciting collaboration was formalized on January 6, 2025, during a signing ceremony.
The goal of this partnership is to attract 500,000 tourists—both national and international—by the end of 2025, with aims to reach 1 million tourists in 2026. This initiative follows the successful operational launch of the Kampot International Port, which has been facilitating travel in the region since its inception.
Virak Buntham highlighted the significance of this collaboration in boosting the transportation sector and improving travel options for tourists visiting Kampot. The high-speed boat service will offer easy access to nearby islands and destinations, thereby positioning Kampot as an attractive travel hub in Cambodia.
Additionally, the partnership is set to foster economic growth and development by promoting hospitality services and enhancing inland passenger transport in the country. With nearly eight years of experience operating high-speed boats to destinations like Koh Rong, Koh Rong Samloem, and Koh Sdach, Virak Buntham is well-positioned to leverage this new service.
Notably, the company is recognized as the first to provide modern passenger boat services directly from Kampot International Tourist Port to Koh Tral (Phu Quoc Island) in Vietnam. This service will strengthen Kampot’s role in the regional tourism sector.
